WHY?
Ahava entered her father’s study holding a tiny porcelain tea pot in her hand, and a brown Teddy Bear named Romeo under her arm? Her father sat in his big black leather swivel chair engrossed on the papers carefully displayed upon his desk.
“Daddy,” Ahava called with a voice so sweet it could melt ice.
“Daddy,” Ahava called a second time with just a hint of distress.
“DADDY,” Ahava called a third time with a slight shrill of distress.
Her father continued pouring over his paperwork, but managed to reply, “What sweetheart?”
Encouraged, Ahava continued, “Will you have tea with Romeo and me?”
This time father put down his pen, swiveled in his leather chair, and looked deep into his daughter's eyes shaking his head sadly saying, “No sweetheart, Daddy can’t right now I am busy with work.
Unfortunately, the people in the Tower of Babel story were not as wise as Ahava’s father. Ahava’s father answered his why questions out of a love for his family. Those who settled the Shiner Plain answered their why questions, fearing the consequences. Ironically those who fearfully place themselves at the center of every decision have the lowest sense of self or soul. They suffer from a chronic illness that festers self hate.
The people of the Shiner Plain tried to build a tower to heaven for fear of the families scattering. Ironically they brought on themselves the very thing they feared the most, in an unforeseen terrible way.
Do you know how to identify a narcissist? Ask them, “Are you a narcissist? They will say, “Yes,” because they think there is no better way to live.

WHY?
Because Daddy needs to make money to take care of you.
WHY?
Because Daddy loves you.
WHY?”
Because everything Daddy does is because he loves you.
WHY?
Because with my every breath I want to give you happiness.
WHY?
Because you are the most important part of my life.
Daddy.
Yes?
Will you have tea with Romeo and me?
Yes Sweetheart,
Daddy would love to have tea with you and Romeo.
