AWARE

Aware
Across my lake a westward wind washes over my gunnels before the rising sun,
A potent powerfully perfect pure breath of vitality fills my nostrils, “I am alive!”
Refreshed, repetitiveness relieved, I resolutely rest my paddle in the bosom of my canoe,
Swelling senses strained standing stalwart, to embrace a gifting sun’s embrace.

AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, “Then God Said” is the most amazing mystery of creation.  God said what to who is a question the wise ask every day.  It is the foundation of awareness, and critical to creative awareness.  Consciousness is a state of awareness of what is passing through our mind.  Awareness internalizes our surroundings; a process that communicates a special message into our consciousness.  No two humans internalize their surroundings in exactly the same way.  I refer to this as "The Rainbow Effect."  Other than in a picture, no two people see the same rainbow because the light passing through myriad tiny water droplets can only be seen at at an angle of 42 degrees, and no two people ever look through the droplets at the same height. This dialogue swirls around within the universe of our mind and initiates a hopeful awareness, “I can impact my surroundings through the power of my awareness coupled with my understanding.”  To discover an understanding that has a lasting benefit is to seize and unite with a truth.  It is our truth and it is subject to the evolution of our awareness, but it is not ours alone.  It is a communication, a dialogue with what is outside and what is inside.  A new union is created; our surroundings are no longer "out there" but they are an inseparable part of who we are, as we are an inseparable part of everything out there.  Comprehension is the fire that catalyzes a weld, making something before unknown an intimate part of the human structure.

This is why we tell stories.  It is only through stories that the experience our awareness gifts can be communicated to others, and it is the experience that motivates our awareness to action.  Jesus explained why he communicated through stories by referring to God’s words to Isaiah, given to Isaiah as part of the prelude to his ministry, “Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive; for the hearts of this people have grown dull.  Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.”  Isaiah knew that the people were not going to listen, but he warned them of the impending doom so that when they were destroyed they would reflect on what he said and make the decision to seek forgiveness and receive God’s redemption.  The true power of Isaiah's words is discovered in the story of his life, the life of Israel, and their story. Jesus’ stories represented a hopeful awareness for those who were searchers for truth to grasp the power of truth awareness and make it a life changing part of their lives.

TOMORROW WE WILL BEGIN TO EXPLORE SOME STORIES
